$12.99"Omigosh—so cute!" (The Boston Globe). Introducing a brand-new calendar based on the phenomenally popular, award-winning blog—with the singular mission of scouring the Web for "only the finest in cute imagery"—anointed "#1 MOOD LIFTER" in Time magazine's "50 Coolest Websites" issue. Cute Overload features day after day of sheer animal adorability: wiggly-nosed bunny rabbits, palm-size puppies, kittens mimicking human traits, fuzzy chicks, koalas, baby pandas, the occasional hedgehog, and The Rules of Cuteness, including #5: Fisheye lens + baby animal is always cute and #10: If you haven't grown into your feet yet, it's cute. Accompanied by a pitch-perfect, smart caption, every picture is guaranteed to elicit an "awww." Truly, "The Gold Standard of Cute" (Wonkette).

Cute calendars should always be cute (2009-11-16)
Ok so it's a "Cute Overload" calendar. Every picture should be 'cute.' That is not always the case! Sure, some people may find rodents cute and some people may not (I don't find them that cute). But there are definitely some pictures where the animals could be described as (dare I say it): ugly. I take issue with pictures like that of the grumpy, fat bunny followed by a corny caption about how he is disgruntled. It's not cute. Also not cute are the 'tocks pics. Puppy... cute. Puppy 'tocks... eh. Not that cute. It's buttocks. There are plenty of funny calendars. This one is marketed as a CUTE calendar so it should only have cute animals.
Making cutesy remarks and goofy language is part of Cute [...] so if you don't like that... don't buy the calendar. There are a lot of cute pictures though and some very cute, bright photos. It's nice to start out each day with a cute animal. I think it would be best if Cute Overload had a separate Funny Overload.
For the most part... (2009-08-27)
For the most part I have enjoyed this page a day calendar. The animals are adorable! Yet there are many animals in bust shots which I find to be very distasteful! I have came across quite a few already and after today I tossed the calendar in the trash! I bought this calender to enjoy the animals if I wanted to enjoy cleavage I would have and certainly could have bought something else! I would defiantly not recommended this product!
Rubbish (2009-03-27)
I'm sorry to have to say this, because I love Cute Overload as a website, I really do. But this calendar is just rubbish.
Only 1 in 10 of the images is actually cute. There are too many evil-looking dogs and the dog to hamster ratio is appaulingly biased (in favour of pugs). I too have to agree with one of the previous comments about the captions, they aren't funny and they detract from the images which, as I've mentioned, aren't doing themselves any favours to begin with.
I can only assume that the person who chooses the images on the site is not the same person who chose the images for the calendar. Or that the best images on the site were not given permission to be used.
Wacky cross-eyed or evil-looking dogs ARE NOT CUTE. Especially when they're chewing on some guy's ear lobe.
Save your money and support the site instead of this embarrassment.
Seriously, Do people really think this is funny? (2009-03-17)
The pictures are cute. However, I often find myself feeling shame for the people that write the captions. They just really aren't funny and misspelling words to convey accents only adds absurdity to the calendar's attempts at humor. The calendar may be a little better if it cut down on the personification just a little (might). On quite a few days, I have not even been able to understand what the writer was trying to convey. Do these writers still have jobs? I can't wait until December 31.
Underwhelmed by the cute "overload"... (2009-03-11)
Honestly most of these pictures aren't just NOT cute, they're out of focus, run-of-the-mill, and downright ugly. Surely it couldn't be that difficult to procure 365 pictures of cute baby animals?? Why am I looking at pictures of old dogs and insects every day?

$12.99Cats in the Sun is the product of Hans Silvester's three-year investment in photographing the cats of the Greek Cycladic Islands. Every picture captures the essence of the unspoiled Mediterranean landscape--sun-drenched villas, a sparkling sea, and shady olive groves. Dominating this exquisite panorama are hundreds of cats, respected--but not domesticated--by locals, happy to have the army of mouse-catchers nearby.
Definite classes of cat exist on the Cycladic Islands: there are the true rogue cats--scavenging for food, unkempt, with a missing piece of ear or two--and then there are the more privileged class members, regularly fed by Islanders and allowed the honor of a doorstep on which to perch (but still denied entrance into the home). The individualism of each cat is evident in every portrait--a mother nurturing her brood of kittens, a cat frolicking in the gentle swill of a wave, a cat peeping through a paint-peeled window frame. Cats in the Sun is an astonishing collection of photographs that captures the true spirit of the beloved feline.

Beautiful photographs (2010-01-31)
This book is on my coffee table and people who come over pick it up again and again, in spite of themselves. We love cats anyway, so seeing them in this setting is touching. The introduction is well-written and gives a lot of insight into the cats' relationships to each other and to the Greeks. It is pleasant to read (with little paw prints on it) but the book is about the photography. And the photography, being also about the architecture of the Greek islands, is amazing.
Cats in the Sun Calendar (2009-01-30)
The photos on this calendar are always wonderful in their presentation, color and subject matter. If you are an art lover and a cat lover...this calendar is for you.
Purr! (2008-11-23)
Because the Cat Purrs: How We Relate to Other Species and Why It Matters
Cats in the Sun is a photographic delight--cats strolling, cats climing, cats snoozing, cats with kittens, cats of all colors, cats, cats, cats. It will make the reader purr.
My annual treat (2008-10-28)
Every year around this time I try to find the latest Cats in the Sun calendar in my local bookstores but only find cloying pictures of kittens, so I turn to Amazon. Having these calendars on my wall is the closest I can come to sophisticated photographs of my favorite subject matter, and on cold San Francisco days the sun-drenched locale is warming.
Hans Silvester's Cats in the Sun (2008-01-14)
Hans Silvester captures not just cats, but the Mediterranean ambience in these gorgeous photos. His years spent photographing and learning about these felines are apparent. The color and composition of his photos is amazing. He has chosen to show us the real cats...not some cute, little, studio-posed furball. These are cats in their natural habitat going about their daily routines. This is a must have for cat lovers.

My kids give one of these to my mom every year. The gallery calendars are the best. Quality paper, with double sided paper. Well done.
