An excellent way to learn about baby. June 3, 2008

Easy way to include hubby in daily baby growth in utero without getting out the heavy hitting books. Simply flip the calendar daily (after filling it out for your due date) and it tells you everything from being the size of a pea to suggesting eating finger foods 'cause I'm growing fingers today...

We cherished ours and still have it as part of our baby collection. I highly recommend it as a congrats on your pregnancy book.

Great Present!. May 14, 2008

I purchased one calendar for myself and one for my girlfriend who is currently pregnant. It's cute, especially for first time mothers. I haven't used mine yet, but I plan to once I get pregnant :)

SO much fun!!!. May 4, 2008

This calender is so much fun. What a way to get daddy involved. We flip each page every morning and read what each day says. It gives you a great idea of what is happening inside of you each day of your pregnancy. It fun facts. My husband loves it. I plan on buying this calender for all future friends who get pregnant. It's worth it. This calender is probably most fun for first time pregnancies.

Revised version of "Countdown to a Miracle: The Making of Me". February 14, 2008

Some of you may think that this concept of a daily pregnancy calendar 'written' from the baby's point of view sounds familiar. That's because "Countdown to My Birth" is the newest version of Countdown to a Miracle: The Making of Me (2nd ed) by Julie B. Carr. While the cover is different, the interior concept is still the same - each day your baby describes what is happening from conception to birth, complete with a due date countdown, a place to put today's date, room for notes, and bonus stickers to mark special 'firsts' - first kick, first hiccup, etc. The stand-up, spiral bound format is also the same.

If you loved 'Countdown to a Miracle', you'll love this new version!

Julie Carr, author

We love this calendar!. February 4, 2008

My sister recommended that I get this calendar, and I am so glad I did. My husband and I look forward to seeing what the baby is up to every day. It's better than having an online update bcause it's the first thing we see when we wake up because we keep it at our bedside. It's presonalized because you fill in your dates, and you can write little notes to yourself or the baby as you go. I highly recommend it to anyone who's expecting- It'd make a great gift too!

Description

When did I ovulate last month? "Does my LH surge always happen on Day 15? "How long ago did I get my FSH tested?" When it comes to getting pregnant, timing and accuracy are everything, yet you have to have the organizational bent of a bookkeeper to keep track of the relevant details! What a woman in charge of her fertility really needs is one place to track everything--a handy log to keep on the nightstand, to toss in her purse when she goes to the doctor, or to whip out for reference when she's searching the Internet. Spiral-bound for easy and frequent use, The Essential Fertility Log is all that--and a lot more. It has three main sections: a daily journal with space to record ovulation/cycle information, a monthly calendar that displays the big picture of fertility and menstrual cycles, and a section for medication, treatment, and test records. Fun factoids and tips throughout also emphasize staying fit and healthy through regular exercise, good nutrition, and stress management. Just what I needed. June 28, 2008

This is a wonderfull fertility log, plenty of space to write down the information you need without all the advice and stuff you don't. I keep my journal next to the bed to write down my morning temps and fertility monitor readings. Every few days I plug the information into my fertility charting software. I love not having to try and remember everything. If you have fertility problems like me you will be glad you have this on your bedside table. There are temping charts, calenders and about 9 months worth of daily info pages so you can keep track of your progress.

Not Useful for my situation, BBT Charts pathetic. April 5, 2008

If you temps are always above 96.9 and you are into journaling everything right down to what you eat and how you feel about it,then this is the book for you. For me it wasn't that useful b/c I am not into journaling and my low temps are in the 96 range. So, I can't use the BBT charts. Plus, the BBT charts don't give you much room for notes. I like my chart to contain all the info I want to record. I don't want to have to look back at the journal or calendar to see what was going on on a particular day. Instead I chart online at fertility friend. So, I am not going to use it at all. The main reason I bought it was the charts. I liked the idea of having them in this nifty book when for when I go to the doctor. At fertility friend I can print out the charts so that will be more organized then this book could achieve. I also bought "Taking Charge or Your Fertility", it has the same problems with the temps on the charts but it has so much indispensable information that I didn't care.

Must have when trying to get pregnant!. November 5, 2007

This book is one of the few sources out there that has valuable fertility information & alternatives, plus a VERY useful monthly log. The log was key in helping me chart my cycle and plan accordingly. Plus, Schlosberg adds a perfect amount of humor to give us all a bit of comic relief during the process!!

a terrific resource/handbook. November 1, 2007

This is a truly wonderful book to have for women who are in the process of trying to conceive (TTC), which can be for some of us a many-months-long process. Besides the various logically laid-out pages for keeping records (daily logs, monthly calendars, test results, temp charts), the other sections provide fundamental, sensible information about the process as a whole, including guidelines on stress relief and staying fit, as well as a helpful chapter on journaling (with corresponding blank pages) and list of useful books and websites. In the midst of several rounds of IVF, which can all blend together over time, I found this log to be a valuable way to keep all the details in one place. Also, I took it to my various doctor's appointments, so I could write down questions as I thought of them and then fill in answers from my doctor over several conversations. This book has become my steady companion while I'm trying to get pregnant. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

great Journal . August 12, 2007

This is the second log I've owned. I purchased the first one(the same exact book) at a bookstore and paid 75% more. This book helps me keep up with remembering to take my temperature and vitamins. It also helps me keep up with my test results and log my goals for each week.

Great Calendar. March 17, 2008

This is a beautifully illustrated calendar. I bought it for myself, but it would make a really nice gift for someone expecting. Lots of room to write information on important dates and stickers too!!

Sweet calendar to share with your baby!. December 28, 2007

Got this for Christmas, and opened it right away to find beautiful photography of the sweetest babes! Has plenty of room to write specifics from each doctor visit and belly growth. Also, has stickers to mark special moments or cravings and such! This will be saved along with my baby's baby book!

Pregnancy Calendar. May 9, 2007

I searched through many pregnancy calendars and found this one to be easy to use. The pictures are lovely and the stickers provided outlining significant events during the pregnancy were fun. There is a place to jot down information each month about your doctor's visit. There is space to also write-in any additional information you desire on the date. I highly recommend this product.

I really don't know what to say about this other than how greta it is. It has all the stuff you need in one little book to keep track of all your baby related things. As a mom who has more than one pregnancies I have a hard time remembering what happened when and how I feel at such and such point. I love having this book and keeping track.

CUTE . . . BUT NOT WHAT I WANTED. October 18, 2007

THIS ITEM IS CUTE . . . BUT I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO PUT IN AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS SMALL AND NOT WHAT I WANTED, I GOT A PLANNER INSTEAD AND RETURNED THIS ITEM.

Great!!!. May 14, 2007

This is a great planner to track you pregnancy. The size is perfect to carry with you. The stickers are cute! Only complaint is that the squares a on the small side so you can't write that much.

Wonderful Pregnancy Calendar!. January 5, 2007

I absolutely loved this calendar! This calendar has blank calendar months so that you can create your own pregnancy calendar. Setting up your personalized calendar is easy and fun. I loved to keep track of the baby's growth, appointments, and my own progress not to mention counting down to the exciting Day. I would recommend this calendar to every Mom. Memories are forever. I thought that it is a fair price and ships fast to your home.

Must Have!. June 15, 2007

After my second child's birth I was really stressed out with the jealousy of my older child, my husband's long work hours, and my post-partum depression. Beth's words of wisdom helped alleviate my guilt, especially when I felt like I was anything but an ideal mother. Her humor raised a smile and she tackled some topics that, unfortunately, mothers don't always talk about because we're afraid to admit that we don't love every aspect of motherhood (which, btw, is very natural).
Beth also encouraged me to take time out for myself and when with my children, to truly enjoy them. I still carry this book around with me....

A must-have for new mothers!. May 7, 2007

As a new mother, I absolutely adored this book. The author shared all of the thoughts and feelings of the new mother, which were the same as I was having about my new role in such a beautiful and heartfelt way, which helped me feel less isolated.

This is now one of my favorite things to give to mothers-to-be at baby showers!

great gift. February 22, 2007

I have 4 children...and I read parts of this book after each one. The "New" in the title didn't only mean first time mom to me...I enjoyed the book over and over.

Read just a page a day. October 19, 2006

I received this wonderful book as a gift. I often only had the time and energy to read just one page before bed. It always comforted me. I always give this book to new moms.

Just what I needed to hear, when I needed to hear it!. February 12, 2004

This book was wonderful when I was a first time mother of twins. It helped me keep it all in perspective. When I was most frazzled, it made me realize that whether their stages brought good or bad, babyhood is precious and temporary.

First ever LIFE-SIZE illustrations calendar of the unborn developing baby, conception to birth. 38 actual size black/white line drawings week by week. The better answer to one of the most frequently asked questions during pregnancy: "How BIG is the baby?" This calendar is in form of an eggshaped flipchart. The eggshaped pages get larger as the baby grows. On the back of each page is a reduced size baby with a text bubble containing positive "NEWS from the WOMB" and changes in development such as thumbucking , opening of eyes etc. and measurements.

Perfect gift. March 21, 2008

I bought this for my friend expecting her first child. We all look forward to turning the page over every week to see how big her baby is getting. Everyone who goes to her house checks out the baby's progress. I have never even heard of any other product showing the actual size of the baby. It's wonderful to know! This product has been a such a hit! I would also think it would be so helpful to older siblings too who don't quite understand what's happening to Mommy's belly. I will be buying more "eggs" for all of my friends and sisters when they become pregnant!

Great gift!. June 27, 2007

I purchased this calendar as part of a congratulations gift for a newly pregnant friend. She loved it. And so did all the moms that saw it. It is also a great item to help inform the husband as to what is going on! It is easy to read and has great pictures. Pictures would be great to show a sibling what's happening in Mommy's belly! I really like this product.

It's a wonderful way to experience my friends pregnancy. March 18, 2007

All of my expecting friends are out of state and I don't get to see them as often as I would like. It's a great way to stay in touch and follow along with their new budding family. I look forward to flipping over the pages each week and knowing how far along they are. They love flipping their pages just to get a better sense of who is coming along in nine months. All in all - I recommend this product to the expecting mother, her friends and family. It's just a great way to stay in loop for this wonderful "mystery of life"

My wife loves it. January 23, 2007

I gave this to my wife while expecting our second child. She absolutely loves it. She looks forward to flipping the calendar each week and seeing the approximate size of the baby. I wish I had found it for our first child.

Perfect gift for young children awaiting the arrival of their new sibling. November 16, 2006

I've bought Baby-Egg for three expectant mothers and the expecting grandmothers. They love coordinating the flipping of the pages each week and reading the latest News from the Womb. Two of the families already have young firstborn children who get so excited to see the progress of their soon-to-arrive brother or sister.

The Countdown to Baby Advent Calendar

by: Lisa Kerber
publisher: Winker Productions released: 1991-04-12
ISBN: 0962984809 $9.95
Description

The nation's only week-by-week pregnancy guide in an advent-calendar format. Each week, the expectant mother opens one of 40 doors to discover what's happening with herself and her baby. Along the way, she finds out how her baby is growing and developing and also what to expect in her own physical and emotional changes. Each of the advent calendar's "doors" is illustrated with a whimsical baby-related item. The changing profiles of mother and baby appear once a month.

Over 300 facts and figures about a normal pregnancy are included, all doctor-approved. The chairman of the OB/Gyn Department at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire edited the calendar.

The calendar provides an entertaining way to mark off the 40 weeks of a normal pregnancy, making the long wait for a baby's arrival a lot more fun! At a glance, the mother-to-be can tell how far along she is in her pregnancy by seeing how many more doors to open until the due date.

As an added benefit, the back of the calendar has an expectant mother's journal to record important dates, memories and milestones. This unique pregnancy guide is ideal for first-time moms or experienced mothers who want to involve their families in welcoming their new addition. It also makes a delightful gift for newly pregnant friends or co-workers.

The calendar is designed to hang on a wall or refrigerator and measures 13 1/2 x 21" opened.

not as expected. November 16, 2006

i was totally disappointed when i received this product. i do not think it was worth spending this amount on it. It doesn't have any writing space. i will never recommand this product to anyone. it was waste of money and i do not see myself using it.

Lots of windows!. February 24, 2006

I am enjoying the calendar but it wasn't what I expected. It has tons of windows to open and not a lot of room to write (except for on the back). Not what I was looking for but I'll still look forward to opening each window every week.

Baby Advent calendar. October 18, 2005

Not truly what I expected. However, I gave it as a gift and the recipient liked it. Be aware that it is an advent calendar - one opens the "doors" to the weeks as they pass and there is information within regarding baby and mom. There is limited space for mom to document pregnancy happenings.

THE BEST gift to give an expectant mother!!!. December 10, 2004

I received this as a gift from a friend when I shared the news of my 1st pregnancy. I have since, given the same gift to several of my friends. I even used it in my 2nd pregnancy (when you have less time to read books about your growing baby). Everyone who receives it LOVES it!!!

an Excellent Calendar!. June 5, 2003

My wife and I received this as a gift when we had our first baby. It is an amazing calandar that you open 1 door each week. 45 doors in all. The calandar has baby items/pictures on the outside of the door, and the inside contains information on what is happening to the mother, and what is happening to the baby as they both grow.

The back of the calendar is like "baby's first book" where you write how your pregnancy is developing, and first choosen names, etc.

This is an excellent way for husband & wife to know what's going on, and spend a few quality moments together each week.

I definately recommend this calendar!

Loved it so much I used it twice. September 25, 2006

I used these calendars for two different pregnancies and really enjoyed it. The weekly information is interesting and helpful, the stickers are great and the baby name suggestions are wonderful too. They really crammed alot of useful stuff into this calendar, plus really cute pictures of babies. The only drawback is writing in all of the dates and days of the week, but you'll have that flaw with any pregnancy calendar.

Nice, but needs improvement. January 29, 2006

The calendar does have nice pictures and I like the tips and the names at the bottom. However, even though it is done week by week there is little room to write anything down. They have this huge quote that takes up 1/4 of the page. I think they could of reduced this and made the writing area larger.

Just what I was looking for.... November 29, 2004

I seemed to have a harder time this pregnancy (my third) finding a "pregnancy calender". I was really excited to find this one. The pictures are very sweet and there was room to write in my thoughts, etc... It's a good buy if your into keepsakes and scrapping.

Horray, this is exactly what I wanted!. July 1, 2004

I just recieved this Calendar in the mail today and I love it! It has a page for each week with tips for each day of that week. The pictures are adorable too. I love that it has spots for pictures too. It also has suggested baby names A-Z on the bottom of each page. It's definitely worth the money. I just wish I got it sooner!

Hooray - Finally a Gift that Mommy can treasure for years!!!. December 24, 2002

The "Hooray! My Baby Is on the Way Calendar" was a wonderful way for me as a first time mom to become attuned to what was going on with my baby week by week. The calendar also displays adoreable pictures of babies for you to ahhhh over in anticipation of your new arrival. The stickers (first ultrasound, picked babies name, first heartbeat heard, wore maternity clothes, and etc.) are a nice way to reflect on the memories of pregnancy. The calendar also displays helpful hints that guide you on what can be expected. These hints also can be dropped to signifant others as a suttle way of saying "I need a back rub!" The calendar is a great gift to yourself or to those that are expecting around you!!!
