Where's his proof? (2006-10-21)
Not once in his book does he tell ONE success story. He writes about several couples who were in the TRYING stages, but didn't share whether they ended up having a boy or a girl. I'm not sure how much stock I would put into this method... but I've not used it personally, so I guess I don't have a personal testimonial one way or the other.
Too Much to Read and Too Long! (2004-05-09)
This book was too much to read and too long! For pete sake, we are trying to have a baby, not build a computer. I want a baby girl bad but after several tries of this book that didn't work, I'm going to find an easier way. Amazon, send my money back!

Worked like a charm! (2002-12-13)
I disagree with the other reviewers. I used this book and followed all of the instructions (no small task!) and had a girl. Maybe it was just luck, but I recommend the book to everyone. The problem is that planning a girl takes a lot of effort - charting, temperature-taking, etc. - but I found the book clear and very easy to use.
Nothing really works (2002-01-31)
OK It wasn't clear. I won't use this. But a word to all other readers -- I've used Shettles twice and it doesn't work! (I have 3 boys).
How to Have a Girl (2001-07-07)
I have to agree with the other comment on this book. When I bought this book, I also bought the Shettles method book. The Shettles book is a lot clearer and uses scientific evidence, along with actual testimonials, to back up its theories. The author of this book directly contradicts what Dr. Shettles says (which doesn't make sense since Dr. Shettles can prove his theories and this guy cannot)and he offers no proof of his theories. I'm trying for a girl and even though I haven't started yet, I plan to use the Shettles method.

Highly recommended! (2009-01-26)
I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to choose the sex of their baby. This book was recommended to me after having my son. I really wanted a little girl and I didn't want to risk the odds of natural selection. I have used this book and now have 3 beautiful girls! It is so simple and logical. It was a very easy read and the instructions were easy to follow. If it hasn't worked for someone, it is because they didn't follow the instructions to the tee. It has worked for me and everyone I have recommended it to! I have Theresa to thank for my sweet girls!
Want something that works? (2000-03-14)
Why waste your money and time reading this book? In my culture, males are considered better than females, even though I somewhat believe in equality. After 2 daughters, I've spent 7 years looking for a way to have a boy! And I finally found a book that actually worked. But this book had been banned since the early 80's! I lucked out and bought it for a hefty price from a family friend (who didn't want to give it up at any cost). But it was worth it. It's old, ripped up, but useful so I've typed it all. EMail me at frisky1999@mailcity.com to get a photocopy of the original, or a even typed copy of it now!
"Remember God makes the final decision". (1999-04-10)
The 10-15 pages that are given to the topic are informative and helpful. I agree with another reviewer and would suggest going to a library instead of spending money. Interesting concept, but in the end does it really matter?
Don't waste your money! (1998-09-22)
I have tried the method described in this book 5 times. I hopes of having a girl - well I have 5 wonderful boys. The Author of this book needs to research more - her so called system doesn't work. Also look at the Basal chart she says was her own - funny she can write a book but does not know there are only 30 days in June. I feel this book is a waste of your money & just a way for a mother to make money from people like us!
Out of 100 + pages, only about 10 focused on the info needed (1998-07-03)
The 10 pages that are directed at the topic are very helpful. The remainer of this book is nothing more than a written infomerical. I would suggest going to a library instead of spending money that could keep your baby in diapers for 3 or 4 weeks! The statement I remember most from the book is "Remember God makes the final decision".

$15.99Am I ready to be a mom (and will I be good at it)?
How do I make that happen (Sex Ed. was so long ago)?
When does morning sickness end (and why does it last all day)?
Why is everyone touching my belly (and how do I make them stop)?
Are contractions supposed to hurt this bad (or am I being a sissy)?
Is this kid supposed to eat so often (and will my shirts ever button again)?
Where is the old me (and do I even want her back)?
The frank humor and refreshing honesty with which Crib Notes approaches conception, pregnancy, and parenthood will not only provide a welcome distraction from all those questions in your pretty little head, but will offer some explanations along the way as well.
True Confessions of real moms at various stages of motherhood, and a mini Daddy Dictionary are added bonus features!

Fun and Informative (2009-07-18)
You read so many books before and during your pregnancy and after reading this one, you will have all of your questions answered and you feel well prepared. I will be giving this book as a gift at every baby shower that I go to. Also, this is one book you will be able to get your partner to read.
Thinking About Becoming A Mother? This Book Was Written For You (2009-06-20)
Crib Notes, a candid look at conception, pregnancy and parenthood, is a terrific manual for any pregnant mom, new mom, or frankly, any woman thinking about becoming a mom. Kelly Perotti writes about all subjects pregnant and new motherhood from her experience and research, in a lighthearted, honest, and most generously non-judgmental way. The result gives women a darned clear picture of what pregnancy and new motherhood is all about, alleviating the fear of the unknown and offering suggestions that may make the ride a bit easier.
I am all about honesty and help for new moms, no judgment and humor, so I practically devoured the book. Perotti's fast facts were especially entertaining. For example, did you know that "there is a higher chance for conception if the woman has an orgasm" p.15 Woo-Hoo! or that some pregnant women have a "craving for dirt or metal signaling an iron deficiency?" p.27 In addition to these interesting tidbits, the real-life examples and advice are the book's strong point. Perotti's chapter entitled "Baby Blues and Lasagna" was particularly good on this front, my favorite chapter of the book.
DMM (2009-05-14)
As a mom of six young children, this book is awesome. This book is really straight forward and down to earth. It is very educational, and humerous at the same time. Kelly really explores the many aspects of pregnancy and delivery, you don't realize just how many decisions you end up making throughout the whole process, Kelly hits on just about all of them without adding too much of her own prefrences.
If your looking for an educational, "tell it like it is" kind of book you have found it.
More fun than a barrel of monkeys! (2009-04-07)
If you're looking for a tongue in cheek master piece than look no further. This is the book you've been waiting for! Kelly Perotti, you've out done yourself once again.
Fun to read, great gift idea (2009-04-07)
Not since that other "friend-to-friend" book on a related topic, have I had so much fun reading about pregnancy and motherhood. This book is candid, fun, informative and entertaining wrapped up in one easy-to-read package. It is my new MUST PURCHASE for anyone I know who is expecting. Would also be a great gift idea for new moms, mother's day etc.
