A superstar, just like Mom herself. What is it about this bestselling calendar? Is it those irresistible cows, hippos, chicks, penguins, and piggies skipping and prancing through the pages? Or is it the innovative and ultra-practical wall-calendar-meets-planner format? Yes...and yes! It's the whole package: a calendar that looks great and is indispensable for families on the go. Mom’s starts in September and runs 16 full months. Spreads feature an oversized, vertical grid with five columns across (one for each family member) and the days of the month running down the left side. With just a glance, Mom and Dad can see who is doing what, and when. Includes a new drop-down storage pocket, plus 500 stickers and a write-on, wipe-off magnetic phone list for the fridge. 5 customer reviews Perfect for keeping your family organized all year long!. November 29, 2008 This is my 7th or 8th year using this calendar! My busy family's life would be chaos without it. There are five members of our family and this calendar gives everyone their own space for appointments and special events. This year we combined one spot for our college girls and gave a spot to the new family dog. I highly recommend every busy mom have this calendar! Perfect mix of humor and organization. November 21, 2008 I originally started buying Boynton's Mom's Family Calendar three years ago because I needed a new calendar and this one had the characters from my daughter's favorite board books splattered across the pages. Once I started to use it I recognized that it was more than just a cute calendar. I love how I have a place on the calendar for every person in the family where I can record who is doing what on any given day. Everyone gets their own column for the entire month. Because I have 5 spaces across the calendar for every day of the week, I seldom find myself not having enough room to record all that we have going on for a particular day. When it comes to trying to manage a family this calendar beats a traditional one square for every day of the month type of calendar. The 500 stickers that are included are cute but I seldom use them. They did come in handy this past year when my youngest child was potty training, but for the most part I only use a few of these stickers a year to mark holidays or birthdays. This year a storage pocket was added to the calendar. At first I thought it wasn't that great, but now I'm very happy that it's there. I no longer have to have papers clipped to the underside of the calendar. This calendar is well worth buying. There is no way I could ever go back to a standard calendar. I look forward to buying this calendar for many years to come. If you're a Boynton fan this is a must have. best family calendar ever. November 19, 2008 This is the absolute best calendar for a busy family. Lots of room for each family member, and stickers to remind you of appointments etc Cool Calendar - it does take some getting use to. November 18, 2008 I first saw this calendar at our schools Scholastic book fair. One of the reasons I purchased it because it starts in September of 2008 and ends in December 2009, for the money it's more than just a 12 month calendar.
I do like the way they broke every day down and you can label 5 small rectangles for each day. At our house I broke it down to Mom, daughter, Dad, Birthday and other. I also liked that also with the calendar came a magnetic phone list for the fridge and 500 stickers. It does take some getting use to looking across the calendar, but once you get use to it, it's easy. I do wish the daily rectangle areas where a little bit bigger for more information. A good deal money wise and to help you plan your child's school year and your families social commitments.
Must have mom's calendar. November 18, 2008 I have used the Boynton Mom's Family Calendar for the last 2 years and I can't live without it. It's perfect for organizing a busy family. It makes my holiday wish list every year. |

A little slice of paradise tucked away from the outside world—over a mossy stone wall, at the end of an overgrown path, through a latched gate—the secret garden is a sanctuary of sensory pleasures: birdsong and gently trickling water, the scent of blooming flowers, the sun-dappled beauty of layers of greenery. From Smith & Hawken comes a year of serene havens for the mind and spirit. An English country retreat overrun with roses. Through a beautiful stone archway, a sunny kitchen garden. And an irresistible invitation to sit and stay awhile: a greenery-enveloped nook furnished with a pair of chairs. Accompanying the transporting photographs are gardening quotations and appreciations. 1 customer reviews My sister's favorite. October 2, 2008 I get this calendar every year for my sister who lives out of the country. She enjoys it every time. Beautiful inspirations. I was however, disappointed the other Smith and Hawken calendar was not available for 2009. |

It's a calendar, a planner, and so much more. Combining organizational finesse with zesty Boynton illustrations, Mom's Family Desk Planner goes everywhere and anywhere Mom does. And now this planner runs a full 16 months, beginning boldly when school starts in September 2008, and ending gracefully on New Year's Eve 2009.
On the lefthand side of each spread is an emissary from the Boynton menagerie to brighten your week (a cat, a rhino, a penguin, the obligatory cow). On the righthand side, there's a week-at-a-glance grid with two generously-sized write-in columns, one for Mom's schedule, one for the family's comings and goings.
Section 2 of the desk planner features space for important phone numbers—from doctors to school contacts to restaurants. Then there are tear-out grocery and to-do lists, and some extra pages for scribbling down important and/or inconsequential things. And stickers! Put them on special dates, or perhaps use them to lavishly decorate your tax return. After all, Moms need to have fun too. 5 customer reviews Good simple planner. November 2, 2008 This has been great for us. I wish there were more spaces to write things, but other than that its been perfect! Well done and amusing. October 30, 2008 Bought this planner for a friend with several children and it was a big hit. She can carry it with her comfortably and the bright color makes it a cinch to spot in a dark car. There are enough columns for a family of 6 and the format makes it simple to see "who is doing what, when and where - but not why". Which about sums up family life...It is also easy to write on, whcih is a major plus from my point of view. Loved it!. October 27, 2008 I really loved this planner, specially that it has a side where i can write stuff for my family every day and a side for myself :) How can you go wrong with Sandra Boyton. October 10, 2008 There is very little to complain about with this calendar. The publisher upgraded it to a 16 month calendar (which was quite advantagous for me, as my 2008 version was destroyed beyond use in late July). The also rounded the corners of the front and back covers. This aids in preventing this calendar from being too badly battered if it is carried in a purse, backpack or bag, which mine frequently is. However, the edges of the covers continue to extend over the edges of the calendar pages by a good half inch. This would not be an issue if the cover weren't made of a heavy cardstock type material. But since it is, the edges of my calendar look like it's gone through a tornado by mid-year. I solved this problem by "laminating" the edges with packing tape. The publisher could solve this problem by either making the cover of a more sturdy material or by making the edges the same size as the pages. If it weren't for this issue, I'd give this 5+ stars. Not just a calendar. July 13, 2008 I've been buying the Mom's Calendars for many years - at first the wall calendars. First, they are cute qnd I love cute. A great organizer, with vertical columns for each member of your family. One look and you know who needs to be where at what time for why. As my daughter was on the school dance team, son was in band and softball and husband a teacher, it was an enormous help. The stickers were fun, too. The engagement calendar I only recently discovered and I love it as much as the Wall calendar. The grocery lists in the back that tear off easily, To Do Lists that I can fill out and Hand Out! and once again the columns on each page, one glance and I know what to do & when. No more bulky agendas. One less stress point. Thank you Ms, Boynton. |

A seller for multiple years. This delightful 2009 calendar will warm the heart, comfort the soul, and bring smiles to the whole family. 2 customer reviews Just Charming. November 19, 2008 Susan Branch is one of my all time favorite illustrators. Her drawings are just delightful. Plus, the recipes she includes in the calendars are truly delicious. I have all her books and would not hesitate purchasing more if she were to publish others in the future. Her Best Biscuits recipe is out of this world!! Can't say enough nice stuff. September 16, 2008 I'm so happy for Susan Branch that all her books and calendars get 5 star ratings from Amazon readers! They deserve it, each one she does, you think it can't get any better, then it does. I'm on her email newsletter list and I got her Autumn Book recently -- just wonderful! On the front of this calendar, she's got a quote that says "I'm trying to arrange my life so I don't have to be present." I know exactly how she feels! She writes about the seasons in such a homey way, I just can't wait to turn the page each month to see what bit of wisdom, what recipe, what story she has in mind for us. Can't say enough nice stuff about these calendars -- you will love them. |

Make Your Own Calendar is back for 2009! Each month features a space for kids to create their own pictures, as well as clever border designs to color in. There are also over 200 colorful stickers included to mark special dates. Whimsical artwork from Steve Haskamp gives this calendar a fresh look, and invites kids to personalize it and make it their own. 2 customer reviews This book will make 2009 special for your kids. September 29, 2008 For teachers, parents and day-care staff, there is a way to keep those children occupied! Make Your Own Calendar 2009 is an engaging and interesting craft book that will hold their interest. Filled with colorable pictures and empty areas that can be used to draw, this calendar will encourage their creativity. As an added bonus, about 200 stickers are packaged with the book.
The calendar can also be used for educational purposes. Teaching children the date/calendar system can be a daunting task. But with this handy tool, it will be much easier to explain and show them since they will have a keen interest in something they have worked on. Each page comes with month-appropriate pictures surrounding it, which in itself can be used as an educational tool to explain the major holidays and significance of each month. Children will also be exposed to the diversity present in different cultures as important festivals and holidays of many different cultures are noted.
Not only is Make Your Own Calendar 2009 something that can be used to keep your children busy, but it can also be used to expand their knowledge. And the most important thing is that it can be a very fun activity! I am definitely looking forward to 2009 so that I can use my self-made calendar!
Armchair Interviews says: This would be a perfect gift. an annual favorite with our kids. August 6, 2008 Our kids (ages 5 and 8) are in love with this item. This is our 3rd or 4th year of buying the calendars. I pre-order them, and the kids anticipate the calendars' August arrival date the way they would anticipate Christmas or their birthdays. They spend a lot of time discussing what they will draw for each month, and they enjoy the coloring parts and putting on the special occasion stickers. It is a long-term project. They will spend weeks or even months on their calendars. This is a perfect gift for kids with a long attention span who like art projects. If you give this gift in December, though, it probably won't be finished by January 1, so give it earlier in the fall. |

"Where there is stress, there is humor." --John McPherson Then John McPherson must be under constant pressure. The laughter never seems to stop whether inspired by the woman who throws herself onto a seafood case to help relieve her hot flashes, the nurse who offers to turn the surgical lamps to "tanning mode" for an extra $25, or the two men from Al's Car Wash who place bird poop decals on clean cars. Whatever the subject--John McPherson puts stress to good use--putting everyone into hysterics. |
