Sibley calender (2009-05-28)

I have gotten one every year since Sibley first published them. I give them away as X-mas presents every year.

great illustrations, but mediocre planner (2008-12-07)

Disappointed, wanted to indulge my love of birds this coming year, but the cover is a flimsy thin cardboard bound in spiral (as in, how long until it rips off?) and the book itself is significantly heavier than a Staples plain planner, which is a drawback since I carry my planner with me. oh well, it wouldn't pay to return it, so I will keep it for the exquisite illustrations but not use it as my regular planner

LOVE THIS CALENDAR - GETTING ANOTHER FOR 2010 !!! (2009-12-13)

We had this calendar for 2009 and it is WONDERFUL! We loved the bird songs and so did our cat. Can't recommend it highly enough. For those few who say the songs did not work - RETURN THE CALENDAR AS IT IS DEFECTIVE AND GET ANOTHER ONE. The songs are real recordings of the birds - one for each month, and the calendar is put together beautifully - very wonderful to use as a calendar as well - Clean, simple lines - beautiful artwork of the birds with interesting information about them on each page. This would make a /wonderful/ gift for anyone who is into nature or birds at all. It is a very calming calendar to have around.

The calendar runs on a lithium battery which lasted fine the whole year (you can't see it unless you really look for where it is hidden on the bottom strip) It has very high quality recordings of bird songs. The speaker in the calendar is excellent as well. The battery lasted all year even though we randomly would push the different buttons whenever we felt like it to hear some bird song all year long. I will save this calendar (for the bird songs) and just replace the battery someday if ever we have to. Fabulous product, very professionally put together - I will purchase a new one every year. Highly recommend. If you get it from Amazon, and there is anything wrong with it - they will gladly replace it.

If you are a teacher - WHAT A GREAT TEACHING AIDE - your class will love it. If you are a parent - your kids will love it. If you are a grandparent - your grand children will love it. I too, do not know why someone did not think of this product earlier. In our house - we have a category for this kind of purchase. We call it a "BEST BUY".
Get one and enjoy!

DELIGHTFUL!!! (2009-03-03)

Bird Songs 2009 Wall Calendar
I love my calendar!
Each month has a beautiful drawing and description of a bird. The daily spaces are large enough to write appointments, etc.
But the best part are the 12 "buttons" below the calendar which, when each is pressed, sends a different melodic sound through the air.
I also gave this as a gift to a group of nuns at the local convent, and they are enjoying it so much. Just what is needed during the cold, snow winter!

Bird Songs Calendar (2009-01-14)

The calendar is supposed to make bird sounds, but the sound does not work on the calendar.

bird songs calendar (2008-12-22)

I love the calendar so much (because of the recorded singing birds, of course), that I have decided to keep it instead of giving it as a gift & will have to see about getting another one next year, too.

excellent. Why did nobody produce something like this before? (2008-12-03)

This is a great entertainment and educational tool, and I just wish it had been around while my son was young. Though he is grown now, it is still a great tool. Information on the birds, their habitat and habits, with the songs very clear. Even if you are not after education, it is wonderful to hear the birdsong when you want.
Very enjoyable and attractive and it keeps my cat entertained, too.

Nice (2009-01-11)

Very nice calendar, with amazing photographs. Each day has a trivia fact about weather, which is nice for weather watchers, or even for discussion with the kids each day over breakfast, which is what we do. Because there is a trivia fact written in each day's square, it wouldnt be a good calendar for writing appontments, important dates, etc.

A sure thing! (2008-12-15)

I gave this calendar to my weather-crazy adult son for Christmas several years back and it's been on his wish list for Christmas every year since. He puts it in his bathroom where he checks out the trivia every day.

BEWARE BEWARE DO NOT BUY!!!! (2009-12-08)

This is a 2009 calendar. Worthless as a calendar. I can't believe amazon has the gaul to sell this.

Interesting calendar (2009-07-15)

I love this calendar. It's fun flipping to the next month and seeing the chicken of the month. :-)

Beautiful & Funny! (2009-03-19)

This calendar is lovely. The pictures are high-quality and beautifully done. The chickens themselves are funny and odd. I would recommend this to anyone!

These chickens are extraordinary! (2009-01-18)

I buy this calendar every year. They are truly extraordinary chickens, and the photography is beautiful. (Stephen Green-Armytage's books are great, too.)

Beautiful and Hillarious! (2008-12-27)

I bought this calendar for my father in a nursing home, to give him a few chuckles. It is now hanging on his wall and is a daily topic of conversation for his nurses and other visitors! This calendar is made of excellent quality paper with 5 star photography, I am ordering another one for myself! It's great for any animal lover, the photos are sure to bring laughter to your day.

Beautiful calendar (2009-06-14)

My parents received this beautiful calendar as a gift. It features a large picture each month, along with one small picture each day. Each photograph includes the name of the bird. Highly recommended!

12 Month Calendar with clear bold colour beautiful bird closeups (2009-01-29)

I had last year's calendar and it was admired by everyone in the office. Combination of larger "monthly" pictures and smaller pictures of a variety of birds scattered in spaces around the days of the month. I receive a garden calendar this year, so didn't get this one, but plan to order it anyway now that it's down in price, just for the beautiful pictures.

Not a picture a day calendar (2009-01-26)

This calendar is not what I expected. I thought I was getting a picture a day, 365 day calendar. Instead, this is a wall calendar that has some additional pictures. Don't buy this if you want a 365 day calendar.

Not Bad (2009-01-21)

The calendar was a bit bent when I received it. Otherwise a fine transaction.

Bird Calendar (2009-01-20)

Not what we expected. We thought it was a page-a-day desk calendar. I guess the company stopped making the smaller version.

The Ecological 2009 Calendar: A New Way to Experience Time

Author: Pomegranate

ISBN: 0764944398

Price: $16.99

This engagement calendar, now featuring information from NASA Earth Observations (NEO), provides a good look at the interlocking phenomena that make a year on Earth the amazing event it is: the seasons, phases of the moon, changing tides, weather activity, the seasonally shifting behavior of flora and fauna, and more. Each weekly spread presents an annotated graphical cross section of the Earth's natural processes at that time. Planets and stars perform their wheeling dance in the calendar's Sky Band, while in the Sun Band the ratio of daylight to darkness grows, then diminishes again with the year's passing. The Moon Band tracks our friend's waxings and wanings as she slides in and out of our shadow. A grand planetary riot of meteorological and terrestrial phenomena takes place in the Earth Band; earthly waters respond to the moon's pull in the Tide Chart; and the days roll on in the Calendar Band.

Four foldouts show each season in full, enhancing your connection with the year's natural progress. The graphics on the left-hand pages are annotated on their facing pages to the right, each of which bears one week's standard Monday-to-Sunday engagement calendar. But as an antidote to Monday-to-Sunday habits of thought, the days are given fanciful names that evoke the passage of time in the natural world. Engagements you may have, but you'll also have perspective on the relative significance of human deeds when contrasted with the vast cycle of Earth's trip around the sun. Finally, the calendar also includes lists of international holidays and international telephone codes/time differences.

Size: 7 x 9 in.; 128 pages; Wire-O bound, softcover with flaps. Printed on recycled paper using soy-based inks.

not so exciting (2009-01-27)

It' s not so exciting. The bad Thing is that it is too wide, without any hole to hang it. Numbers are important for a calendar. Days and their nrs are not easy to read.

All Calendars should be this informative! (2009-01-12)

This is my third year using this product and it's arrival still brings just as much excitement as my first one. The wealth of information in every panel is extraordinary. The sky chart is fantastic and keeps you up to date on meteor showers as well as current constellations. The legend is factual and informative and lets us celebrate all the cycles the earth and it's creatures are currently experiencing. A great buy for anyone interested in the earth or sky!

ecological calendar (2009-01-06)

This calendar is terrific! This is my third year purchasing one and I think they also make great gifts for anyone that loves nature. Very detailed and the artwork is awesome.

The Ecological Calendar (2008-10-01)

I am enthusiastically ordering the 2009 calendar, based on our family's very positive experience with the only one we had ever seen - one for 2005 that I encountered in a California bookstore in September 2004. One of my granddaughters still has that one posted on her wall, since she treasures it and we had not found any since. I am ordering one for each granddaughter as hoilday presents and know that we will all enjoy them. A very beautiful, useful, uplifting, instructive and inexpensive gift for one's own home or for any one on your "list" who works with and/or values nature (farmers, fishers, gardeners, star-gazers, etc.), as well as for students at any level. Also -for those so inclined - a prompt for prayer!
