LOVE THIS CALENDAR - GETTING ANOTHER FOR 2010 !!! (2009-12-13)

We had this calendar for 2009 and it is WONDERFUL! We loved the bird songs and so did our cat. Can't recommend it highly enough. For those few who say the songs did not work - RETURN THE CALENDAR AS IT IS DEFECTIVE AND GET ANOTHER ONE. The songs are real recordings of the birds - one for each month, and the calendar is put together beautifully - very wonderful to use as a calendar as well - Clean, simple lines - beautiful artwork of the birds with interesting information about them on each page. This would make a /wonderful/ gift for anyone who is into nature or birds at all. It is a very calming calendar to have around.

The calendar runs on a lithium battery which lasted fine the whole year (you can't see it unless you really look for where it is hidden on the bottom strip) It has very high quality recordings of bird songs. The speaker in the calendar is excellent as well. The battery lasted all year even though we randomly would push the different buttons whenever we felt like it to hear some bird song all year long. I will save this calendar (for the bird songs) and just replace the battery someday if ever we have to. Fabulous product, very professionally put together - I will purchase a new one every year. Highly recommend. If you get it from Amazon, and there is anything wrong with it - they will gladly replace it.

If you are a teacher - WHAT A GREAT TEACHING AIDE - your class will love it. If you are a parent - your kids will love it. If you are a grandparent - your grand children will love it. I too, do not know why someone did not think of this product earlier. In our house - we have a category for this kind of purchase. We call it a "BEST BUY".

I love my calendar!
Each month has a beautiful drawing and description of a bird. The daily spaces are large enough to write appointments,etc.
But the best part are the 12 "buttons" below the calendar which, when each is pressed, sends a different melodic sound through the air.
I also gave this as a gift to a group of nuns at the local convent, and they are enjoying it so much. Just what is needed during the cold, snow winter!

This is a great entertainment and educational tool, and I just wish it had been around while my son was young. Though he is grown now, it is still a great tool. Information on the birds, their habitat and habits, with the songs very clear. Even if you are not after education, it is wonderful to hear the birdsong when you want.
Very enjoyable and attractive and it keeps my cat entertained, too.

excellent audubon engagement calendar (2009-02-08)

This is not the first audubon calendar I've purchased. As usual, it contains a variety of subject matter photos, ie; birds, forests, mountains, streams, ect. They also provide a description of each photo. The quality of the thick, glosssy paper they use allow the photos to be reproduced as richly as a magazine. There's a photo on the left side of the page, and a weekly calendar on the right, with plenty of space to write notes. I've looked at many calendars, but if you're a nature lover, you're sure to be pleased with this one.

The desk planner is wonderful. The photography and style is top shelf. I have a room decorated with many natural items and the Audubon planner adds a nice accent to it all.

I buy one of these calendars every year for my mother. She loves looking through the pictures each day and they are stunning! After looking through many of these sorts of calendars, I have found the Audubon one to be my personal favorite.

Simply awesome calendar (2008-12-22)

I have used the Audubon Engagement Calendar for many years. My kids now buy me a new one every year for Christmas. The photos are beautiful. I am trying to get my kids to all 50 states before they go to college. On most of our trips I plan at least a couple of stops to places photographed in this calendar. They simply make you want to be there. My kids and I look forward every year to thumb through the new calendar when I open it on Christmas. Photos are about 6"x9" with a similar facing page to plan out a full week. Plenty of room for notes and scheduling events.

Perfect for travelling (2010-01-01)

I travel often and carry only a small bag so needed a tiny, light, but sturdy agenda with enough room to write in. This one fit the bill perfectly and it has a pretty cover to boot!

great illustrations, but mediocre planner (2008-12-07)

Disappointed, wanted to indulge my love of birds this coming year, but the cover is a flimsy thin cardboard bound in spiral (as in, how long until it rips off?) and the book itself is significantly heavier than a Staples plain planner, which is a drawback since I carry my planner with me. oh well, it wouldn't pay to return it, so I will keep it for the exquisite illustrations but not use it as my regular planner

Great for the price! (2009-07-21)

This is a nice large calendar with beautiful photos! You really can't beat this for price. The bird photos are great quality and absolutely beautiful. In addition, each month has a little tidbit of information about the particular bird featured. All of the appropriate holidays are written into the calendar, including the signing of the U.S. Migratory Bird Treaty Act in 1918. ;)

All in all, great and useful calendar for the price!
