Description

A superstar, just like Mom herself. What is it about this bestselling calendar? Is it those irresistible cows, hippos, chicks, penguins, and piggies skipping and prancing through the pages? Or is it the innovative and ultra-practical wall-calendar-meets-planner format? Yes...and yes! It's the whole package: a calendar that looks great and is indispensable for families on the go. Mom’s starts in September and runs 16 full months. Spreads feature an oversized, vertical grid with five columns across (one for each family member) and the days of the month running down the left side. best family calendar ever. November 19, 2008

This is the absolute best calendar for a busy family. Lots of room for each family member, and stickers to remind you of appointments etc

Cool Calendar - it does take some getting use to. November 18, 2008

I first saw this calendar at our schools Scholastic book fair. One of the reasons I purchased it because it starts in September of 2008 and ends in December 2009, for the money it's more than just a 12 month calendar.

I do like the way they broke every day down and you can label 5 small rectangles for each day. At our house I broke it down to Mom, daughter, Dad, Birthday and other. I also liked that also with the calendar came a magnetic phone list for the fridge and 500 stickers. It does take some getting use to looking across the calendar, but once you get use to it, it's easy. I do wish the daily rectangle areas where a little bit bigger for more information. A good deal money wise and to help you plan your child's school year and your families social commitments.

Must have mom's calendar. November 18, 2008

I have used the Boynton Mom's Family Calendar for the last 2 years and I can't live without it. It's perfect for organizing a busy family. It makes my holiday wish list every year.

I love this calendar. November 17, 2008

This calendar is a great way to keep everyone's schedules together...very helpful and cute animal pictures

THE Best Calendar Out There. November 16, 2008

I purchased both Mom's Family Calendar and Plan it Plus last year and used them both and IMHO, Mom's Family Calendar wins out hands down. I could barely squeeze appointments or anything else in the Plan it Plus tiny squares. Not to mention if you have more than one thing to write on a certain day, you can forget it. The family calendar may be a little bigger, but I can live with it if it will hold all the information I need which it does and then some. I love that you can write different names at the top to section out different appointments and such. It's perfect for my family of four. And there is even an extra space for our family dog and her vet appointments or grooming! The only thing I give Plan it Plus over the Family Calendar is the convenient magnetic holder so you can hang it on the Fridge. Other than that, I would highly recommend the Family Calendar to keep any family organized and on top of things.

Family Organizer. November 18, 2008

I love this organizer. I have used it for three years running. Couldn't keep my life in order without it! It has everything: reminder stickers, menu planner, grocery list, quick reference number section and more.

A must-have for stay-at-home moms. November 16, 2008

This is the perfect calendar to organize your life as a stay-at-home mom. The menu planning section and the tear-out grocery list for the next week are nice extras. I order it every year.

Perfect! (Almost). November 13, 2008

I have 6 kids (soon to be 7), and I cannot live without this planner! I love having the menu list, grocery list, to-do list, and weekly schedule all together. I'm looking at the 7-hole-punch version for this next year, in hopes that that will allow me to add some type of tabs to the different sections and be able to keep all my different colored pens with it. I also wish it had the month-at-a-glance set up in a way that I could move all the months to one section, while keeping my weekly sections together. But all in all, it's the best family organizer I've found.

best family planner out there. October 24, 2008

I am a busy mom of four, and this is the best planner I have found to organize the various components of life.

I'd be lost without this planner!. October 14, 2008

I've used this planner for 7 years - I've tried others, but this one is hands-down the best. I have 3 kids with busy schedules, and I use a different color ink for each kid (and for me & my husband). There's never a question about who needs to be where, and when - it's all right there. I've used the spiral-bound, the large-size spiral-bound (I don't think that's even available anymore) and now I use the 7-hole one in my old Franklin binder. And I learned a couple of years ago to order early, 'cause I waited until November or so and then could only get the spiral-bound.

As for the 18-month vs. 12-month format, does ANYONE make a plain old 12-month calendar anymore? I like the overlap because it gives me time to transfer things over to the new year, plus I have extra grocery lists from the unused pages.

I think most moms have a calendar/scheduling system down by the time their kids get older, but for new moms just beginning to need something, I highly, highly recommend this planner.

Mom's Family Desk Planner 2009

by: Sandra Boynton
publisher: Workman Publishing Company released: 2008-06-15
ISBN: 0761148914 $10.39
Description

It's a calendar, a planner, and so much more. Combining organizational finesse with zesty Boynton illustrations, Mom's Family Desk Planner goes everywhere and anywhere Mom does. And now this planner runs a full 16 months, beginning boldly when school starts in September 2008, and ending gracefully on New Year's Eve 2009.

On the lefthand side of each spread is an emissary from the Boynton menagerie to brighten your week (a cat, a rhino, a penguin, the obligatory cow). On the righthand side, there's a week-at-a-glance grid with two generously-sized write-in columns, one for Mom's schedule, one for the family's comings and goings.

Section 2 of the desk planner features space for important phone numbers—from doctors to school contacts to restaurants. Then there are tear-out grocery and to-do lists, and some extra pages for scribbling down important and/or inconsequential things. And stickers! Put them on special dates, or perhaps use them to lavishly decorate your tax return. After all, Moms need to have fun too.

Good simple planner. November 2, 2008

This has been great for us. I wish there were more spaces to write things, but other than that its been perfect!

Well done and amusing. October 30, 2008

Bought this planner for a friend with several children and it was a big hit. She can carry it with her comfortably and the bright color makes it a cinch to spot in a dark car. There are enough columns for a family of 6 and the format makes it simple to see "who is doing what, when and where - but not why". Which about sums up family life...It is also easy to write on, whcih is a major plus from my point of view.

Loved it!. October 27, 2008

I really loved this planner, specially that it has a side where i can write stuff for my family every day and a side for myself :)

How can you go wrong with Sandra Boyton. October 10, 2008

There is very little to complain about with this calendar. The publisher upgraded it to a 16 month calendar (which was quite advantagous for me, as my 2008 version was destroyed beyond use in late July). The also rounded the corners of the front and back covers. This aids in preventing this calendar from being too badly battered if it is carried in a purse, backpack or bag, which mine frequently is. However, the edges of the covers continue to extend over the edges of the calendar pages by a good half inch. This would not be an issue if the cover weren't made of a heavy cardstock type material. But since it is, the edges of my calendar look like it's gone through a tornado by mid-year. I solved this problem by "laminating" the edges with packing tape. The publisher could solve this problem by either making the cover of a more sturdy material or by making the edges the same size as the pages. If it weren't for this issue, I'd give this 5+ stars.

Not just a calendar. July 13, 2008

I've been buying the Mom's Calendars for many years - at first the wall calendars. First, they are cute qnd I love cute. A great organizer, with vertical columns for each member of your family. One look and you know who needs to be where at what time for why. As my daughter was on the school dance team, son was in band and softball and husband a teacher, it was an enormous help. The stickers were fun, too. The engagement calendar I only recently discovered and I love it as much as the Wall calendar. The grocery lists in the back that tear off easily, To Do Lists that I can fill out and Hand Out! and once again the columns on each page, one glance and I know what to do & when. No more bulky agendas. One less stress point. Thank you Ms, Boynton.

This book will make 2009 special for your kids. September 29, 2008

For teachers, parents and day-care staff, there is a way to keep those children occupied! Make Your Own Calendar 2009 is an engaging and interesting craft book that will hold their interest. Filled with colorable pictures and empty areas that can be used to draw, this calendar will encourage their creativity. As an added bonus, about 200 stickers are packaged with the book.

The calendar can also be used for educational purposes. Teaching children the date/calendar system can be a daunting task. But with this handy tool, it will be much easier to explain and show them since they will have a keen interest in something they have worked on. Each page comes with month-appropriate pictures surrounding it, which in itself can be used as an educational tool to explain the major holidays and significance of each month. Children will also be exposed to the diversity present in different cultures as important festivals and holidays of many different cultures are noted.

Not only is Make Your Own Calendar 2009 something that can be used to keep your children busy, but it can also be used to expand their knowledge. And the most important thing is that it can be a very fun activity! I am definitely looking forward to 2009 so that I can use my self-made calendar!

Armchair Interviews says: This would be a perfect gift.

an annual favorite with our kids. August 6, 2008

Our kids (ages 5 and 8) are in love with this item. This is our 3rd or 4th year of buying the calendars. I pre-order them, and the kids anticipate the calendars' August arrival date the way they would anticipate Christmas or their birthdays. They spend a lot of time discussing what they will draw for each month, and they enjoy the coloring parts and putting on the special occasion stickers. It is a long-term project. They will spend weeks or even months on their calendars. This is a perfect gift for kids with a long attention span who like art projects. If you give this gift in December, though, it probably won't be finished by January 1, so give it earlier in the fall.

The ECOlogical Calendar 2009: A New Way to Experience Time (Four-panel Calendar)

by: Pomegranate
publisher: Pomegranate released: 2008-06-01
ISBN: 076494438X $10.19
Description

Now in its fifth edition, The ECOlogical Calendar seeks nothing less than to revolutionize our conception of time. Unlike the typical Gregorian calendar's gridlike format, The ECOlogical Calendar's colorful three-foot-long panels depict Earth s four seasons--from solstice to equinox or equinox to solstice--and examine the relationship of the planet's organisms with their environment. Each panel's design reflects the interactions among Earth, sea, and sky while emphasizing the age-old procession of life from season to season. In addition, this year's ECOlogical Calendar includes exciting new information from NASA Earth Observations (NEO), which processes the massive amounts of data gathered by satellites for use in studying the forces shaping our planet. The space race of the 1960s put a man on the moon. But it wasn t the lunar landscape that inspired awe so much as the view from space of our own spinning orb with its blue oceans and white clouds--a powerful reminder of our responsibility to care for Earth s well-being. Thanks to NEO, now more than ever The ECOlogical Calendar will help you do just that. The ECOlogical Calendar makes a beautiful wall display, but its accordion-fold panels can just as easily be used at a desk.

Includes four two-sided panels (each panel is 36 x 12 in., folded to 12 x 12 in.); includes six-page booklet and closeable jacket for storage. Printed on recycled paper using soy-based inks.

The Ecological Calendar. October 1, 2008

I am enthusiastically ordering the 2009 calendar, based on our family's very positive experience with the only one we had ever seen - one for 2005 that I encountered in a California bookstore in September 2004. One of my granddaughters still has that one posted on her wall, since she treasures it and we had not found any since. I am ordering one for each granddaughter as hoilday presents and know that we will all enjoy them. A very beautiful, useful, uplifting, instructive and inexpensive gift for one's own home or for any one on your "list" who works with and/or values nature (farmers, fishers, gardeners, star-gazers, etc.), as well as for students at any level. Also -for those so inclined - a prompt for prayer!

Christened Angelica Transome, in a village infelicitously named Nether Postlude, a girl might be tempted to behave ghoulishly. And having misbehaved, might she not think herself deserving of a headline or two, possibly a mini-series, if only after the hangman had got her? But no. Neglected was Angelica and neglected too were the eleven other thugs, poisoners, sportswomen, and hobbyists assembled here for a belated commemoration. If not for Gorey's droll sleuthing, we might never have appreciated the important part women have played in the history of homicide.
