$13.99 Majestic spiral arms of a remote galaxy shimmer from the combined light of 50 billion stars. The ethereal curtains of the aurora borealis ripple across the night sky. Vast clouds of gas and dust, 10,000 times wider than the solar system, pervade the galaxy. Captured by the cameras of talented amateur astronomers and by the world's most powerful research telescopes, the universe's impressive wonders are presented in Astronomy 2008 in brilliant high-resolution color.
This 12-image collection was compiled by stargazing authority Terence Dickinson, author of NightWatch, who brings a wealth of practical experience to the calendar's daily diary of predicted celestial events, ranging from meteor showers to eclipses.

Calendar Satisfactory (2008-01-14)
I love this calendar. The pictures are beautiful and the blocks for the days are large enough for me to write reminders. I've been using this particular calendar for years because I also like the astronomy information it gives me.
Great gift for an astronomy buff (2007-12-26)
My dad is the hardest person to shop for - but he absolutely LOVED this gift. Looking at the stars is a hobby he enjoys. By using this calendar, he can get a heads up on interesting things he can see in the night sky. Perfect gift for the novice astronomer.

$12.99Itâs no secret that birders are a passionate bunch, not to mention a sizable bunchâ 70 million strong in the United States. And bird people love the Audubon Birds Calendar, from the organization synonymous with birds. For 2008, here is another year of fantastic sightings from around the world. A spectacular Great Gray Owl. The curly crested Bare-faced Curassow. A Rufous-backed Kingfisher, cloaked in purple, red, and yellow. A Southern Grey Shrikeâpart of the family nicknamed "butcher birds" for their habit of impaling prey on thorns. Plus shore birds, desert birds, birds of prey, tropical birds, and backyard birds, too. The gorgeous photographs are accompanied by spirited and authoritative text.

Beautiful, a relaxing change to other desk calendars (2008-02-06)
I am enjoying this calendar, which offers a respite from vocabulary, inspiring work quotes and other work-related themes when you need a break. The photos are beautiful. I'd like more information on the birds' geographic range, perhaps a map on the back of the calendar page.
Great Catalogue of Birds (2007-12-29)
I bought this calendar for my boss, who is a bird lover. He absolutely loves it! Great gift at a great price.
excellent gift (2007-12-24)
It was bought as a gift for a person who knows a lot about birds and it proved a great success. The receiver of the gift already told me she'll try to keep the pages - they are too good to throw away.
Audubon bird page a day calendar (2007-12-24)
I have been buying this page a day calendar for my birder boyfriend for 3 years and he has enjoyed it every time I buy it.
Quality pictures with name & description (2007-12-07)
I always bought audubon engagement calendars every year and decided to try this one too.
This has a plastic stand so you can put it on the bookshelf, desk, table etc. The paper is thinner than the engagement calendar but the pictures are good.
I like this one better because there are more pictures of birds and because this one comes with a description too. I think I will scrap the birds I like best in my scrapbook.

Average... (2009-03-22)
A bit flimsy, even for this price. Would have been better off going to a drugstore probably & could have found something a bit better. Fine for practical use, though.
Pocket perfect (2009-02-14)
This has been really useful. The size in good for throwing into a purse. While not as comprehensive as a We'Moon calendar, it has nice phots and contains enough basic moon info to keep the user on track.
Good enough pocket calendar (2008-01-11)
Standard pocket calendar, 2-page per month. Good sturdy paper. Sturdy clear-plastic protective cover. Different small photo on each 2-month spread. I wasn't sure what I was ordering since they didn't have any description of the inside. There are several lined pages at the back for notes. No page at the front for ID info, but there's space where you can write it in anyhow. No conversion tables or charts or maps like some pocket calendars have. Just the basics.
