I love chikkins! (2008-01-30)

This is a wonderful calendar; high quality photos, convenient format, interesting birds. The photos show (expectedly) how strange and bizarre some chicken breeds are, and (unexpectedly) how ornate and almost beautifully detailed their plumage can be. Perfect for the kitchen.

Great gift for chicken lovers (2007-12-14)

I buy a rooster/chicken calendar for my mom every Christmas. The photos are amazing - you never knew a chicken could look like this. I'm sure she'll be delighted.

These chickens are extraordinary. (2007-11-25)

I've loved my 2007 version of this calendar! I'll definitely order 2008. Only the fanciest, froofiest chickens need apply. Every month there is a main chicken, and a smaller sub-chicken (on the lower page). The proper breed names are given for each. This is handy for we laypersons who are not poultry scholars, but appreciate the plumage.

I keep this calendar at my office. At the beginning of each month my co-workers breathlessly await the unveiling of the newest chicken.

Outstanding pictures and well put together calendar! (2007-10-05)

This calendar has some extraordinary pictures, many suitable for framing.
They give you plenty of room to write whatever appointments/info you may need on appropriate dates and looks great posted on the wall.

Love somc!! (2008-12-11)

I am a huge fan of the somc website and I really love this calendar! I can't wait to get the 2009 edition!

Highlight of my morning (2008-03-13)

All i wanted for Christmas was the 2008 version of the calendar. After 2007, i was hooked!! I love it. What a riot these cats are. My eternal goal is to get my cat in the book or calendar.

Puts a little extra "happy" into my mornings... (2008-01-12)

I had the Stuff On My Cat wall calendar last year and this day-by-day calendar that I ordered by mistake is 353 times better.

If you know a cat person with a whacked sense of humor, this is a great gift. I would not, however, suggest you give it to a Peta member.

great an item (2007-12-31)

Great product, the cat lover loved it. Came in good condition and was shipped quickly.

Fabulous (2007-12-29)

One of the greatest things I've ever seen in calendar form! An absolute must for cat/animal lovers, you can't go wrong with this as a gift!

Trout Calendar (2008-07-08)

Great illustrations of different trout for every month, and a little info provided with each one.

Best present (2007-11-10)

I buy this calendar for my dad every year. I know calendars can be a cheesy gift but he loves this one. He hangs it in his office and he says it reminds him of his favorite hobby, trout fishing.

Trout Calendar Supreme (2007-10-23)

As a Trout fisherman, I don't need a calendar with pretty fly fishing scenes, I can see pretty scenes any time I desire. I want a pretty calendar that educates. This is the one! This is and has always been in the past, the best of its type.

Doggone Cute (2008-01-29)

As usual I had to buy one of Wegman's calendars. Those dogs are so handsome and the puppies are adorable. I actually buy this for a friend who has one of these wonderful dogs and he likes the calendar too.

Wegman Puppies (2008-01-18)

Wonderful calendar, I've been hanging them on my wall's for years!! The was incredible. I received the calendar in two days !! Thank you.

Good product bad shipping and handling service (2008-01-18)

I really like the calendar and the photos are great.
However, the company shipped the calendar in a manila paper envelop, this cause the the corners of the calendar got badly damaged.

At the end you get a bittersweet feeling because you like the photos and the calendar format but it's really annoying to have its corners damaged, especially because they are charging you shipping and handling.

Wegman calendars (2007-12-28)

Have bought both Wegman calendars every year for many years. Always charming and bring a smile to everyone.

Adorable and so lifelike! (2007-10-06)

I love these Calendars and will buy them as long as they are available. They cheer up my day to look at them and I receive many comments from others who come into my office.

Lotus flowers and water lilies are revered the world over as symbols of the aspiring soul. These captivating photographs and fine art masterworks illustrate the seeker's path to purity and enlightenment. The roots of a lotus and a water lily are in the mud. Each stem grows upward through the murky water, reaching for the light of the sun, until at last the fragrant flower opens above the water to bask in the sunlight. Together they symbolize the progress of the soul from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. The Lotus Blossoms & Water Lilies 2008 wall calendar presents twelve lush images of these spiritual icons. Each image is paired with an inspiring quote from the world's great teachers, mystics and poets.

Insects 2008 (Calendar)

ISBN: 1552973107

Price: $13.99

Insects are everywhere we look and everywhere we cannot see. They are ugly to some and beautiful to others but all share the same defining feature: six legs. Insects are the most diverse group of animals on Earth, inhabiting nearly every ecosystem on the planet. Scientists know of a million species and estimate that millions more are yet unknown. In Insects 2008, world-renowned nature photographers create a year-long gallery of insects as rarely seen. Insects both common and uncommon are shown in their natural habitats, from the deepest rain forests to temperate woodlands. Informative captions shed further light on the secretive and very busy lives of insects.

Nice size quality paper, typical uninspired photos (2008-12-01)

I liked the large size of the calendar and the nice paper quality.

The world is filled with amazing, unbelievable insects. So I thought a calendar would be great to help me see these rarely seen creatures. I enjoyed this calendar but was disappointed at 6 "wasted" pages. I could have been introduced to 12 rare, colorful, and exquisite insects, but at least half of the photos were used on typical, common, or inappropriate insects.

By inappropriate, I mean butterflies (and their larva, caterpillars) and dragonflies. There are many butterfly and dragonfly calendars available already. I picked an "Insect" calendar and not a butterfly calendar to get other kinds of insects.

Perhaps I would not be nitpicking this, except that the butterfly was a common sulphur, and the dragonfly was a common skimmer. Neither photo was an extreme close-up which would have made them more interesting, and the dragonfly photo was not centered with the end of the tail cut off.

The three colorful caterpillars were great quality photos, but in an insect calendar, why waste three pages on caterpillars when there are hundreds of thousands of varieties of insects to choose from? I also think they should have been in a butterfly calendar.

Bumblebees are fascinating, but they are also very common. The bumblebee is in flight which I admit takes amazing skill and special equipment to photograph, but the bumblebee in the photo is small, not even taking up a quarter of the page-the editor should have zoomed in on it.

The Mint Leaf Beetle was a good choice, with its shimmering metallic color, but again, the editor did not zoom in and crop enough, the beetle does not even take up a quarter of the picture, also, its face is in shadows. A quick search using google images shows several much more detailed photos of mint beetles.

WHAT I LOVED: The Lantern Bug, Stink Bug, and Giraffe-necked Weevil. These were unexpected, and are rarely seen, and they are exquisite insects. The photos are crisp, clear, and colorful close-ups. I wish all of the photos were like these.

I ALSO LIKED: the Chestnut Weevil and Mediterranean Katydid--though these insects are not rare, and in fact you can pretty easily find them or a close relative with a little searching, these photos were extreme close ups of their faces, clear, colorful, and even a little humorous (with the weevil's long proboscis and the katydid's cocked antenna.) I found these photos enjoyable.

I would buy this calendar again, but mainly because there is no competition. I enjoyed having an insect calendar-Seeing the beauty in the tiny world of insects reminds me daily to notice small bits of beauty that exist in every corner of God's creation. I hope to find another insect calendar for next year.

Great calendar (2008-01-12)

I buy this calendar every year for myself and family and friends. Great calendar for cat lovers.

mini day to day calendar-cats (2007-09-16)

This will be at least the fifth year that I have had this mini day to day calendar from McMeel Publishing. It is just like a regular picture a day desk calendar but it is a very small, convenient size. Also has magnetic backers so the mini calendar can be attached to a metal surface if desired. It is small enough that it doesn't get in the way yet the pictures are bright and certainly a good size for a busy desk, its not that small that it will get lost under papers. It also can be stood up-it has an easel display part so the calendar is always visible. Pages are good for scrap paper or for use to leave notes to oneself once you tear them off.
