It’s mobile Boynton! Mom's Family Desk Planner moves seamlessly from desk to purse and is indispensable for moms on the go (and what mom isn't on the go?). Each handy week-at-a-glance grid features two columns—one for Mom's schedule and one for the whole family's schedules. In the back, Mom can record phone numbers for school, work, maintenance and repair people, and restaurants. Plus there are perforated grocery and "to do" lists, 150 full-color stickers, and storage pockets on the inside front and back covers. And, this being Boynton after all, the spreads are illustrated with a cast of lively, lovably charming animal characters.

Disappointed... (2008-10-11)

Let me preface this by saying I am a huge fan of the Boynton Wall calendar and have purchased one every year for several years. This year I decided to get the desk calendar as well and at first, I loved it. After taking an hour or so to enter in the kids school calendar, my school calendar, every birthday and special event for the year and anything else I could come up with, I was ready to go. The trouble started only a few days in when I noticed the first couple of pages were ripping out. I pulled out the clip that I was using to hold "old pages" and thought that I had solved the problem. One week later, I threw the Family Desk Calendar in the garbage. I loved everything about the calendar EXCEPT the fact that it kept falling apart...

Perfect Planner for Mom! (2008-03-10)

I've been a fan of Sandra Boynton's "Mom's Family Wall Calendars" for years, but last year, when I moved into my new house, I couldn't find a good place for it where it would be easily visible, and more importantly, usable. So this year, when I saw this planner, I was overjoyed!

Same great art spread out over 52 weeks with the same great stickers to use for every occasion! There's more than enough space to keep track of my stuff, along with both of my kids (although, for bigger, active families this could be an issue, as there is only a differentiation for 'Mom' and 'Kids', not the split available on the wall calendar). I use it daily (it fits in my medium size purse and goes everywhere with me) and have yet to miss an event, appointment or bill for that matter!

I love the to do and grocery (automatically makes chocolate #9 AND #10 on every list!), plus all the other extras in the back section!

Definitely recommend this product for every single mom out there. Even if you just leave it on your desk to flip through, you're going to find yourself better organized (oh, it has pockets, too!) and less stressed out!

The only CON I found was the adhesive for the pockets did not hold very well, but that was easily remedied with scotch tape.

Desk Planner (2008-02-19)

I love this desk planner, it has been wonderful. It has plenty of room to write in and cute pre made lists that are perfect for daily errands. I wouldn't choose any other after using this one

love it! (2008-02-14)

i love it, i love stickers and the lists and the mom/family divided days days... i tell every mom about it! one mom did say she loved it but needed the daily time record as well as just day, but that's the only complaint.

A Mom's must have!!! (2008-02-07)

This is my second year using this planner and I absolutely love it. I have a busy family of five, I find it to be very simple and easy to use. It's just a fun planner with all the stickers. It fits well in my purse and/or diaper bag. Great Christmas gift for friends who are mothers.

With Sandra Boynton's spirited chickens, cows, hippos, pigs, and mice running, skipping, and hopping through the pages plus its renowned organizational brawn, Mom's calendar is seriously hardworking— and seriously fun, too. To make it super-practical, the calendar covers sixteen months beginning in September. And the format is pure genius: The oversized grid is laid out on a vertical, with five columns across the top (one for each family member) and the days of the month reading down the left side. It's easy to see who's doing what, and when they're doing it, with just a glance. Includes 500 stickers and a handy write-on, wipe-off magnetic phone list for the fridge.

Best calendar ever made (2008-12-26)

Perfect for the busy mom- lets you keep track of everyone's activities- lots of fun stickers for the kids (or you)

Best Calendar Ever (2008-12-18)

I love this thing. I feel it is a must have for moms. It helps me keep track of my appointments, dad's, and both kids. Plenty of room to write nice and big! We are a family of four so it leaves us an extra column to keep up with birthdays. Everyone who comes over asks where I got it and how to get one. My sister now uses one too. Love it..no issues.

Great! (2008-09-18)

I love this calender! The format makes it easy to read & stay on top of things. There are five columns alongside the day of the week. The weekend days have a colored background. Each box (for each day/person) will easily allow upto four lines of text. With one child, and two adults in our family, there' enough room to stay on track. On the downside, only abbreviated notes can be entered. No space for any details as space runs out. As always, Boynton's fun graphics & bright colors make it a very attractive record of mundane day to day activities.

Good for a somewhat large family (2008-07-03)

It can be difficult to find a large calendar for a busy family with four children. I spend each December at the stores hoping to find the perfect blend of spaces for people with boxes big enough to write out their daily activities. This year I thought I'd try the Sandra Boynton calendar and am glad I did. With a space for each day, INCLUDING Saturday and Sunday and columns for four children it has been a perfect fit for us. So perfect, in fact, that I hope they are planning to do one exactly the same for 2009. If so, I'll continue to use this until we add another member to the family.

Now give us a journal/calendar for the schedule/journalers (2008-05-19)

Greatest family calendar out there! Helps keep us organized and teaches the kids to track the calendar. Fits on kitchen wall. All you need to keep everyone knowing where they're supposed to be any given day.

Mary Engelbreit's 2008 desk calendar (2008-02-09)

I enjoy Mary Engelbreit's desk calendar daily. It is the fourth of her desk calendars I have purchased and I have really liked each one. I try to have a 365 Cats daily calendar also but my first buy is the Engelbreit calendar. It is always a day-brightener. CJ

Mary Engelbreit Desk Calendar (2008-02-08)

I love Mary Engelbreit's desk calendars. I get a new one every year. I save them from year to year to look back on, like diaries. Besides, they're too cute to throw away!

Great by-the-week desk calendar (2008-01-10)

I have been using a Mary Engelbreit weekly desk calendar for 7+ years. I use this calendar at work and it supplements my 'online' calendar. There is about a 1" x 5" rectangle for each day of the week along with a vertical 5" x 1" rectangle for notes.

If you are looking for an serious appointment calendar, this isn't the format for you. But if you are looking for a smile inspiring calendar to hold a few jotted notes and reminders then calendar will definitely fit the bill.

nice, but... (2007-11-22)

I too am disappointed with the format and wrote the company. I've been buying these calendars for years and like the old format. I guess they aren't listening!

Mary Engelbreit's Desk Calendar (2007-11-04)

I have received this calendar for years as a Christmas present but purchased it myself this year. I couldn't live without one! I use it to keep track of all birthdays, appointments and other things to remember. I love it but don't like the fact they have changed it in the last few years from being wider and shorter to more up and down. You don't have as much room to write on the calendar. I will continue to buy one each year anyhow.

Love Mary Engelbreit (2007-12-26)

Love Mary Engelbreit, and I always buy her calendars every year. This one is no let down.

Cute as ever! (2007-11-15)

I love all of her calendars, but this one is especially fun due to its size! I'll have plenty of room to hang it by my desk at work. I always get a little smile from her illustrations.

Best Organizer I've Used (2008-06-11)

...and I've used many. I've used those cheap little pocket ones and the expensive specialized ones, this beats them all. It is organized by the week and has plenty of room to write everything you need. Huge squares for each day...INCLUDING Sat and Sun, which is always my pet peeve in almost every other organizer I've used. I have four children and we do a lot on weekends, having half a square just doesn't cut it. Next to the weekly calendar there is a menu list with corresponding lines for each day of the week...again Sat and Sun have a full section.

On the opposite side is a "To Do" list that has plenty of space. On the side of the To Do list is a decent sized grocery list that is perforated so you can tear it out and take it with you. That, unfortunately is where the only problem I've found with it lies...At the beginning of each monthly section there is a full month calendar with a column for monthly projects on the right side. The grocery list for the first week is printed on the back. So, if you do decide to tear it out, you will also be tearing out your project list and part of Saturday on the monthly calendar as well. I hope they will change this in the future. It would be helpful if they could find a way to solve this problem.

However, it is still the best and I will be buying another one at the end of Summer to get the next school year organized.

the best family organizer (2008-03-14)

Since I discovered Amy Knapp's Family Organizer, I have discontinued keeping my calendar on my computer. I was so tired of loosing all my info on the computer because of many computer failures. There is nothing like having something in your hand. The size of this organizer is just right. If you need to take it with you, it could fit inside an average size pocketbook. I leave mine on my desk or countertop. This is the first organizer that I feel is really designed for a working mom, a stay at home mom - perfect for moms. It handles appointments, grocery lists, to do lists, stickers for birthdays, school vacation, doctor appt., 1/2 days for schools, sports, etc.. Great section for information for babysitters. Amy gives you great tips for how to use the book with simple paper clips. I will never go back to using calendars on computers again. I also like saving these books from one year to next because I have referred back to them many times. If you want a "one book does it all" - this is it without being complicated. I wish I had discovered this organizer when my kids first started school.

Space for lists (2008-02-13)

What works for me about this organizer is that the left side of each week is a list page. All the days of the week are on the right side. This allows me to have a new list each week, and also a place to stick all my post-its without being worried that I will cover up a date. I also appreciate the tear-out grocery and menu lists.
My recommendation for improving this would be to add tabs to each month. I ended up doing it myself because trying to find anything is too time consuming. I also have to add a sticky flag to the current week so I can find it. The pocket inside that someone else mentioned would be nice too.

Great for planning, but want something nicer looking (2008-02-08)

Well, I finally broke down and ordered this planner because it really is the best layout for "this" stay-at-home mom that I could find. I only give it three stars because I would prefer something a little nicer looking. Just because I'm a stay-at-home mom doesn't mean I want a cheap-looking planner with strangers' pictures on the front cover.
How about a deluxe edition for next year?

Family Organizer (2007-12-18)

I have the big family calandar and have loved it so much. With 4 children and all there activities I need a lot of space to write. I did order the calendar again this year and since I loved it so much and thought I would try the organizer. I have to say I was a bit unsatisfied with it. It is much like the calander in appearence but the calander is small and I have to write everything in the monthy calender and the weekly calender to make sure nothing gets missed. There is no tabs to easily access months so to go from one month to the next takes a little time of sorting through the weekly pages to find. The grocery lists if taken off will take with it part of your monthy calendar. Although the monthy calendar is a little to small to write all I need to at the same time the book is a little to big to fit in a purse or something simular for easy access, instead I would have to carry it every where I go or leave it in the car which defeats the purpose. I am trying to figure out a way to fit it into my life but I have a feeling it is going to fall by the waste side. I will not purchase the organizer again however the calendar will be in my home for years to come.

pretty (2008-02-11)

I really love this calendar. I gave it four instead of five stars only because it is a little hard to get used to seeing a calendar in the column form instead of box form. I love the pictures, makes you smile even when your calendar is hectic!
